Teams Rosters to Go Out on Monday

This week has been a busy one, so I wanted to let you all know that the final team rosters will be going out on Monday.
For U11 and U12 parents, please spread the word that we are looking for more players for the teams.

On Thursday, the BSC board voted unanimously to adhere to strict age groups in the formation of teams. This post explains the policy.

For the 2011 season and future seasons, the BSC has adopted a strict policy of no movement between age groups. The U12 team will consist entirely of 11 year olds; the U11 team entirely of 10 year olds; and the U10 team entirely of 9 year olds. The second day of tryouts was a success. We still have some work to do to fill out our two older teams, so parents of 10- and 11-year-old players, please read through this letter.
Here are our final results:
- U9 (7 and 8 year olds): 16 players total, we will be cutting to the max team size of 14
- U10 (9 year olds): 15 players total, we will be cutting to the max team size of 14
- U11 (10 year olds): 8 players total, we need at least 3 more

Loads of Fun at the Clinic

The first in our series of soccer clinics was a great success!
Caleb Paterson, our director of coach and player development, ran the first program with very little aid from myself and Coach Drew Williams. The kids, nearly 20 in all, had a lot of fun and learned a great deal about ball handling.
